​Established by Cori Oakley in 2007, The Mossy Tree specializes in residential landscapes throughout Northern Michigan. Cori earned a B.S. in Microbiology from Eastern Michigan University in 1987. She worked in cancer research for 5 years, until she retired to be a full time stay at home mom. During those years, Cori studied to become a certified Master Gardener in Leelanau and Grand Traverse counties. She shared her love of gardening through projects with Grand Traverse County, The Grand Traverse Area Historical Society and TCAPS (Central Grade School). Cori established a following, and it was then that The Mossy Tree was born.

We have been creating, renovating and maintaining beautiful landscapes in the Grand Traverse Area for over a decade. Our extensive knowledge of soil chemistry and plants allow us to create and maintain health, vigor and environmental integrity in your green outdoor living spaces. Our staff is friendly, energetic and thorough. We take pride in our work and strive for excellence by restoring health to Northern Michigan landscapes with minimal impact on the environment.
